I wish they had a directly line. The 800 number is the WORST!! I am sure this office is wonderful and would change my review if I am ever able to schedule an appointment to see it. (Fingers crossed) I do not loss my mind dealing the horrible 800 number robot lady or navigating website labyrinth.

I had a great experience at the USCIS Helena, MT office. The building was very clean and well organized, and the staff were incredibly sweet, professional, and respectful from start to finish. Everyone I interacted with was patient and helpful, which really helped ease my nerves. The process was smooth and efficient, and I felt treated with care and professionalism throughout my visit. I truly appreciate the positive experience and courteous service.

Scheduled my Canadian biometrics appointment here at Helena, MT as I was passing by the town back from YNP. Jerry and Dan, the security checkin folks are very sweet. Jerry though, is such a sweetheart. Both the ladies inside the office are very helpful and I got my biometrics completed in less than 5 mins. Appointment: 12-2pm

My husband and I traveled 3 hours to Helena for his biometrics appointment a couple of days ago. Both of the security guards were incredibly kind and considerate, and the lady that took my husbands biometrics was also very helpful. By far the best experience we've had with USCIS so far! The appointment itself was very quick - we were in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Wow the staff here are so friendly! I know everyone loves to talk about Jerry, but I also liked Gary and Pat :) They were all wonderful gentlemen and made me feel very safe and comfortable. I forgot to bring my notice form for biometrics, but the manager (also a very sweet lady) there printed out my form 😅 Really lucky to live in Montana where the USCIS office is a welcoming place!

What to Expect at Your Appointment

USCIS field offices handle in-person appointments including green card interviews, naturalization interviews and oath ceremonies, and requests for evidence. Here's what to know:

Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Bring your appointment notice (Form I-797C) and a valid government-issued photo ID.
You'll go through security screening at the entrance — metal detectors and bag checks. Leave prohibited items in your car.
Cell phones are permitted but must remain on silent throughout your visit.
Wait times vary from 10 minutes to over an hour. Bring water and something to read.
Bring all original documents referenced in your application — the officer may ask to review them.
